SCAMMERS!!!

These are scammers. They are brokers. I lost about $3000 from these crooks. They requested 2 deposits and found out they just connect you to movers. Who are also scammers! The movers tried to scam me to pay more! They claim they can't fit my stuff in their truck. I had to hire another company who checked out my stuff in person and gave me a fair proposal. I was so devastated from being ripped off. Stay away!!! Get a mover who will see your belongings in person. Don't hire a Broker, pay for what, just get scammed!

I recommend this service to anyone that needs assistance

This company has certainly been such a great convenience for me. I am a frequent relocation because of business opportunities and the last company that I contact for assistance with relocating completely damaged many of my items and I had to pursue legal actions as a result. I was a little skeptical about getting any other company to assist me, but I knew that I would have eventually reach out to a service. My uncle referred me to American long distance moving and storage because he used their services in the past with great success. Their servicemen arrived to my area on time and the delivery was smooth sailing. I recommend this service to anyone that needs assistance with relocating.

WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER!

Worst customer service we have ever experienced! They charged us more than double what they quoted (and what direct competitors quoted us), damaged a lot of our furniture (THEY LITERALLY HAD PACKING TAPE ON THE FURNITURE, WHICH DAMAGED IT SIGNIFICANTLY WHEN TAKING OFF), came more than 30 hours after they promised they'd come to pickup, were super super late dropping off furniture, hired non-professional movers (they literally picked up stragglers at Home Depot parking lot) and the customer service kept ignoring phone calls, passing us on to other people and didnt care at all about us or their horrific service. I highly recommend you avoid this company like the plague!

American long distance moving and storage

*** WARNING *** Fast talking Bob the mover will make promises he can’t keep and keep your deposit after providing no value to your move When I contacted American long distance moving and storage for a move quote, I told “Bob the mover” that I am under contract to vacate my property by an exact date and time. Bob took an inventory of my stuff and sent me a reasonable quote for my move. I had to look over the contract an sign it while on the phone with Bob. I had to immediately place a $1250 deposit to save my space on a truck I noticed after that Bob left some large items off the inventory. Bob also gave me 20 small boxes in my quote. The small box size on the contract was way smaller than what I would consider small. Bob assured me we can simply adjust on final inventory. A few days before my scheduled move, I was called for my final inventory. Bob was right, you can make adjustments. Unfortunately my quote skyrocketed and was way more than I expected. Realizing I was played by Bob, I had no choice but to pay the exorbitant amount for my move. The day before my scheduled moving day, I was called and told my truck is delayed. They will call me tomorrow. Realizing I had no backup plan for getting my stuff out in less than 18 hours, I rented a UHAUL. Thank goodness I did. The trucking company called and could not guarantee to have me out by noon. I loaded the UHAUL and moved myself. They refuse to refund my deposit. Looking for others who were bamboozled by American long distance moving and storage. Thinking class action lawsuit.

Call Bob at (954) 666-0698 to get ripped off.

Stop do not use this company!

We spoke to account manager Bob last name I’ll find out later today. He gave us a full pack 3/4 of a 56 foot truck for $11,000. As we get closer to the date for pick up Michael called us and doubled our price to 18,000 for one 26 foot truck. I called Bob bob fix the situation my cold is back and gave us a 53 foot truck. On the last possible day for us to move out a gentleman showed up with two U-Haul trucks and changed our price to $30,000 and demand it we pay 60% of that for him to get started. We were unable to contact anyone because it was a holiday so we had to wait for dispatch to call us back. When dispatch called us back we went through conversations managers and the whole 9 yards and it was finally agreed upon that we’re supposed to haveTwo26 foot trucks for 18,000. And that the mover would be back before 4 PM it is now the next day or final day to be here and the mover never showed back up. We callback to customer service received no customer service and was told that all the monies that we had sent to them as they requested or nonrefundable because we breach the contract. We have talk to everyone we possibly can but at the end A nameless gentleman who is supposed to be above the manager we already spoke with proceeded to allow talk us gave us no time to speak spoke over us continuously as if his job was for us to be irate. So in summary do not use this company they are liars scammers and I’m sure no one gets moved.

Long-distance move from Arlington, VA to Melbourne, FL

Very Disappointed

Spoke with to Matthew W. Was advised it would cost 2500.00 to move 1 bdrm apartment from Virginia to Florida. Pickup date would be 6.28.21 between 1 & 4 pm. Called several times no answer. The driver called after five to say they would arrive at 6:45 pm only to arrive an hr later at 7:45 pm. The pickup from apartment & storage unit across the street. Was told they wouldn't if I didn't pay an additional 7 thousand dollars even though they already had a 1,327.00 deposit. Lets just say my things was never picked up for delivery. Now the company won't answer their phone! Poor customer service and I want my deposit back. (was told by driver, the company out sourced his company to pickup and delivery my things & he decide what additional price to charge) These people are Crooks!

This company is a FRAUD STAY AWAY!!!

For new customers please do NOT come to this company they will completely scam you out your money. I spent nearly $1600 and never received a call nor services . I ended up having to drive myself and rent a uhaul myself. You will get frequent calls to wire money and they will purposely leave off inventory so that they can come back and get more money 5 days prior to your supposedly pick up! Please you’ll be better off shipping it yourself. This company will say this is fraudulent but no they are. I am in the process of filing complaints and legal against this company. So please be aware of them. Listen to the REAL reviews.

Long-distance move from Glendale Heights, IL to Yorktown, IN

Rip off

Over phone estimate was too high so rep gave me a discount. When they called a few days before and read the list to me a large piece of furniture was missing. I added a few things and reminded the rep twice to put that large piece back. They sent me the final contract to sign with the new items and still missing the large item. I contacted them repeatedly to correct contract. Day before move I finally get someone to answer the phone and am told since I didn’t sign the new contract they will use the original.

Chicago top movers show up and after loading tell me I owe them an additional $3,000. That is almost double my total estimate!! I talked him down a couple hundred bucks but I was angry. I was still going to have to pay half at delivery. I ask driver if they same crew will be delivering my stuff and he said,”Yes in 3-5 days.”

That never happened. I called customer service and was told it would be on the next truck going to Indiana. I asked where is it now? In the warehouse I was told. That meant it was tossed off the truck and stacked somewhere else and would need to again be tossed on a different truck for delivery. Another week goes by and I ask customer service what company am I speaking with. She responds with who were you calling? I say customer service, what company am I speaking with and she reluctantly says Allied. I’m wondering if my contract is with American and Chicago top movers picked up my stuff, why is Allied answering the phone?

I ask for a delivery date and get the same next truck going to Indiana answer.

The next week I call Allied directly and they say they never heard of me.

Now I am concerned about ever seeing my stuff again.

The next week Thursday at 12:30 AM I am woken up by very loud banging on my door. It’s a different driver with a Uhaul who says he is self employed. Do I want my stuff or not? He then tells me it is C.O.D. I tell him no one told me that. He asks if my bank is local and I’m freaked out he is going to insist on taking me to an ATM. I’m a 66 year old single woman living alone. We finally agree he will take a check.

He had only one assistant, who he yelled at the whole time, and it took until 4 AM to finish. I was so embarrassed by his behavior in front of all my new neighbors he woke up.

Now for the condition of my furniture-

Big screen plasma tv is ruined (probably had something heavy set on the screen)

Almost all the inexpensive (ikea) items were in pieces. Hinges ripped out of place. Shelving brackets missing. Tape directly placed across back of items.

I’ve lost count of how many boxes aren’t mine. I’m so disgusted I can’t get motivated to unpack and see what all I am missing.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from American!!!!!

A $2000 mistake

Yep. Me, too. I fell for it. I was all set to move using U-Box storage containers when a moving quote came across my phone from American Long Distance Moving & Storage. Interest piqued, I called them back and after some reticence on my part, I was finally given a “military discount,” which was equal to the amount I intended to pay for the U-Box storage containers. Great!—“just stay on the line,” said Amy (customer service) “so we can get your checking account and routing numbers for a 50% deposit. And, btw, here’s my direct number. Text me anytime, and if I can’t respond, I’ll have someone else get back to you.”

Ha! Texted her, never heard back.

Finally, six days before my move, I heard from Michael (quality assurance) who, after plugging my moving list into a computer, up’s the price of the move by $3800 based on the inaccurate list put together by Amy—bringing my total to way over what I would’ve paid for the U-Box storage containers. (Incidentally, this company appears to charge by item rather than weight.)

Fine, I’d like to cancel.

“Okay,” says Michael, “you’ll forfeit your entire deposit.

What?! Okay, how much of my furniture will you ship for the $2000 you’ve already taken from me?

“Oh, no, ma’am. It doesn’t work like that. It’s all or nothing,” he says.

Fine, I’ll try to whittle down my furniture. But, I never heard from Micheal again. So, two days before my move, I finally realized this company really couldn’t be trusted. I made the difficult decision to chalk this whole thing up as an expensive mistake. I called the the customer service line to talk them to cancel the truck, after which I was kept on the line again with all sorts of attempts to retain my business, none-of-which included refunding my money.

So, there it is. If you want to move forward with this company, I highly suggest you refuse direct payment from your checking or savings account. Because, if something goes wrong, you’ll never get your money back.

Worst moving experience!

If I could give 0 stars I would! I have spoke with several representatives from this company and have told them my opinion of them! They have had plenty of chances to remedy the situation, and just wiggle out by offering another future pickup date (6weeks away) and/or a credit with the company.

So stay away! The brokerage is a scam operation that only cares about money. Regardless of any promises anyone makes, they will use any excuse to demand more money before they actually pick up your load. After failing to provide the services they promised, they refuse to refund your money.

After giving them plenty of chances to make it right, I have made a reverse charge claim with my bank, and contacted my Attorney General. I have now reserved a truck, that I will be driving myself, and hired a local crew to help with packing and loading.
